Application Engineer & Automotive Product Program Manager
Responsibilities:
Product Application
- Analyzing OEM specifications and translating client needs into detailed brake hose requirements;
- Collaborating with Sales, R&D, Quality, and Production to deliver products on time and within budget;
- Leading and participating in design reviews (DR, PDR, FDR) to validate technical solutions;
- Overseeing validation tests (fatigue, pressure, corrosion, temperature), ensuring compliance with performance standards;
- Providing precise technical documentation (drawings, 3D models, IMDS, specs) with full traceability;
- Managing technical changes (ECR, ECO) and coordinating approvals and rollout with Production and Quality;
- Serving as primary technical contact, building strong client relationships through expertise and clear communication.
Project & Program Management
- Leading projects from RFQ to series production, coordinating cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, Quality, and Production teams;
- Defining and tracking project schedules and milestones (APQP, PPAP), ensuring transparency and alignment with clients and internal teams;
- Allocating and synchronizing resources across Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Sales, and Production to meet deadlines and quality standards;
- Conducting regular status meetings with clients and Sales to provide updates, discuss risks/opportunities, and maintain strong collaboration;
- Establishing feedback loops between clients and internal teams for continuous process and product improvement;
- Proactively identifying and addressing risks, fostering open communication to preserve stakeholder trust;
- Controlling project costs (prototyping, tooling, testing) with Sales and Finance to ensure budget compliance and profitability;
- Promoting the company’s values and technical excellence in all client interactions to strengthen long-term partnerships.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field;
- 5+ years in the automotive industry in technical/project management roles, ideally with series production components (braking, fluids, plastics);
- Proficient in automotive quality standards: APQP, PPAP, IATF;
- Skilled in reading technical drawings, ISO dimensioning, and tolerancing;
- Knowledge of materials (rubber, polymers, metals) and assembly processes;
- Experienced with CAD software (CATIA or similar);
- English level B2+, comfortable with international communication;
- Strong analytical, technical rigor, and cross-functional leadership skills;
- Excellent client communication, credibility, and responsiveness;
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced international environment.
